Swim Levels

Novice

To join the team as a novice level swimmer the child must be able to complete 25 yards in two different strokes. The strokes do not have to be legal; however, the child must be able to swim the length of the pool. The child must make a commitment to practice at least 2 times per week.
 
Bronze II
  • Must be able to swim all 4 strokes (they do not have to be legal).
  • Must have endurance level to swim consecutive sets.
  • Swimmer must be competent in drills and taking instruction.
  • Make a commitment to practice 2-3 times per week.
 
Bronze I
  • Must be able to swim all 4 strokes (they do not have to be legal).
  • Must have endurance level to swim consecutive sets.
  • Swimmer must be competent in drills and taking instruction.
  • Make a commitment to practice 2-3 times per week.
 
Silver
  • Must be able to swim all 4 strokes legally.
  • Have the ability to swim consecutives sets on intervals.
  • Make a commitment to practice at least 3-4 times weekly.
  • Swimmer must be able to do a legal start and turn for all 4 strokes.
  • Able to attend at least one meet per month.
  • Able to complete 10 x 100yds freestyle on the 2:00, holding the 1:45.
 
Gold
  • Swimmer must be in need of little of no stroke instruction (other than ongoing improvement).
  • Make the commitment to practice 4-5 times weekly.
  • Able to attend at least one meet per month.
  • All strokes must be legal and have the correct timing
