CHECK LIST FOR A SWIM MEET:

__Swim bag


__Extra towels...be sure to bring at least two


__Swim cap... always have an extra cap in your swim bag


__Goggles...  always have an extra pair in your swim bag


__Black Sharpie... to write your events on your arm


__Highlighter...to highlight your events in your heat sheet


__Money... for a heat sheet, usually about $3.00-$7.00


__Water ... bring and drink lots of water to stay hydrated


__Extra  Clothing.. crash areas are often cold. Sweatshirt, sweatpants, stocking cap, hoodie...the clothes you come in may get damp


__Blanket or Sleeping Bag... to sit on or stay warm between races


__Food Cooler... healthy snacks from home are always a good idea 


__Chairs... for parents to sit on in crash area


__Games & Books...bring games, books, cards, music etc. for relaxation and enjoyment. If you have younger children, remember to bring coloring books or other items which will keep them entertained


*Warm-ups and Coach Check-in...as soon as you arrive at the pool, check-in with your coach to let them know you are there. Please arrive 15 minutes before warm-ups begin. This will give you time to set up your "space" and check-in with your coach. We will be assigned a lane for warm-ups which usually last 30 minutes. 

*See your coach before and after each race. They will want to give you pointers before and analyze your race after. 

 

Swim meets can be long, up to 4.5 hours. This is a fun time for all the swimmers to get to know each other as well as the parents. Remember swim meets are important to attend to see how your hard work at practice has paid off!
